“Christmas Time is here!” Y’all, if you’ve known me for more than a year, or you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know that I LOVE Christmas. I’ve been obsessed with Christmas since I was little, and I get so so excited when this time of year comes around. Since high school, I’ve noticed that it has been harder and harder to get into the Christmas mode. I think it is honestly the hustle and bustle of the season {or final exams} distracts me from getting all Christmas-y. I remember two years ago waking up on Chistmas day, and I told my mom that it didn’t feel like Christmas at all. It just felt like another day, and I hate that.

So – in order to make sure I get into the Christmas mode, I go ALL out once Christmas season hits. This past weekend, we visited our family in IL, and we put up several Christmas trees {including our own!}. Sadly, I only got pictures of us putting up Hayden’s family’s tree. So, even though it wasn’t photographed, we put up 4 trees in the past week {2 at my parents, 1 at Hayden’s parents, and 1 at our little apartment}.

I’ve also been listening to Christmas music on repeat. For awhile, I had only been listening to Michael Bublé, but I decided to switch some things up, and I want to share with you a few of my favorite Christmas albums. I’ve also been getting into the Christmas spirit by watching Christmas movies. I like to treat myself to one nearly every night after I clean up after dinner. Take a look below at some of my suggestions and all the fun we had this past week!

Favorite Christmas Albums:

  1. Christmas by Michael Bublé   {Always a personal favorite!!}
  2. A Pentatonix Christmas by Pentatonix    {I don’t know why I denied this album for so long, but I love it now!}
  3. Christmas in the Sand by Colbie Caillat     {A beachy Christmas album that I can’t get enough of!}
  4. The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection by Taylor Swift    {2007 T.Swift singing Christmas Carols, does it get any better?!}
  5. Once Upon A Christmas by Dolly Parton   {Random, but I love the sound of this country Christmas album.}
    BONUS: Piano Guys Christmas {Seriously, this is beautiful. I listen to them all of the time while I work.}

Favorite Christmas Movies:

  1. Home Alone 1 & 2 {MY FAVORITE!!! I will probably watch these a handful of times within the next month}.
  2. It’s a Wonderful Life {This movie is part of our proposal, and it is just such a classic.}
  3. The Family Man {You can almost guarantee I’ll be crying throughout this one.}
  4. Christmas with the Kranks {My family loves this movie!! It’s full of hilarious one liners.}
  5. The Santa Clause {I only like the original, and I’m super excited it’s coming to Netflix in December.}
  6. The Polar Express {This isn’t a movie I would watch on repeat, but it has such a great story to it.}
  7. Arthur Christmas {We discovered this fun Christmas cartoon a few years back!}
  8. A Charlie Brown Christmas {This short classic is something my whole family looks forward to watching together.}
  9. A Christmas Story {TBS runs this movie on repeat on Christmas day, and I end up watching it at least 3 times.}
  10. I’ll Be Home for Christmas {A 1998 Disney favorite. This movie is a little dated, but I promise the cheesiness of it will make up for it!}

Netflix Favorites: {Please note all of these movies are EXTREMELY cheesy and predictable!}

  1. Dear Santa
  2. Christmas in the Smokies
  3. Merry Kissmas
  4. Naughty & Nice
  5. A Christmas Kiss

I’ll be sharing more Christmas fun in the next few weeks, so make sure you check back in! I have some fun things {& FREE goodies} planned for you!

xoxo,

STL & Midwest Wedding PhotographerKristin, Hayden’s second cousin, was with us, and she had the honor of putting the star on the tree. It’s a pretty big deal!

One of my favorite ornaments on our tree – it holds a wonderful memory!!

Both sets of parents got us first Christmas ornaments last year. I love getting a new ornament every year. It’s such a fun tradition to help remember what big event happened during the course of that year.

Lastly, this year’s Christmas cards!! We love sending these to family and friends, and Hayden writes a little note to go with them to share what we’ve been up to. We hope to keep this tradition going for several, several years.
