What I’m the most Grateful for… {little things edition}

I can’t quite believe that it is ALREADY Thanksgiving. Last year, I wrote a post similar to this, and I figured it would be fun to do one again. I firmly believe it’s a good and healthy thing to take time out of your schedule and remind yourself what you have. It’s so easy in today’s busy go-go-go world to keep asking for more and not step back and realize what you already have. I realized this year, I needed to do more of this. So, Hayden and I try to list two things before bed that we’re thankful/grateful for. I figured I would share about the things that come up the most in our nightly routine. I think sometimes it’s easy to be reminded of the big things: health & family, but it can be easy to forgot the little things that make everyday life so easy.

Here are the little things I’m grateful for:

  1. My Bed

    I say this nearly once a week that I am truly grateful for our bed. This year has brought a lot of travel, and while I love exploring, it is so nice to be at home in your own bed. After a long day it is so nice to get under the covers in my nice clean and comfy bed. It’s something I know I’ve taken for granted for years, but I’m truly so thankful to have a safe place to lay down each night.

  2. My JOB!

    While this might be expected let me explain. I am thankful for the JOY my job gives me. I am blessed to get to work full-time marketing the incredible Glamour Farms Boutique. When I’m not working with GF, I get to run my own photography business. This time last year, I wasn’t sure what I’d be doing after graduation. I wasn’t sure how many years it would be until I found a job that truly made me happy and fit what I loved. I dreamed of going back and joining the Glamour Farms team, but at the time, I knew they weren’t looking for any new team members. God is so good y’all. I’m so thankful to have a job that fills me. I look forward to what I do, and I know that is truly a blessing.

  3. Hot Water!

    So funny, and not so funny thing – we’ve had a very difficult time getting hot water to our shower in our apartment for a few weeks. It’s been lukewarm {and some days ice cold}, and then, randomly it would be EXTREMELY hot. Since we’re renting, it’s up to the maintenance crew to help fix everything – seriously a blessing we don’t have to pay someone else to come in and fix it. Last week we finally got everything fixed, and I have never been so happy. I’ve always had extremely hot water readily available to our shower. So this little inconvenience definitely opened my eyes. While we were able to get everything fixed, I know that some people won’t have that option or won’t even have an available shower.

There are SO many things I could go on about because I know that I am so extremely blessed. It’s easy for me to throw a pity party when I’m having a rough day, but the truth of it is – I have it SO easy. Incorporating our “what are we grateful for” each day has helped me be more aware of the great things that go on each and every day. I want to encourage you to do the same. It’s probably going to feel really cheesy at first, but I promise it will help you look at your life with a whole new, more grateful, perspective!

xoxo,
