I thought I’d mix in a little fun with my educational posts this month! Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite beauty items with you, including my FAVORITE red stain. I am by no means a beauty blogger, and I’m extremely picky about what I do use. A little side note, I have very dry and sensitive skin so everything I recommend is with that in mind. Let’s get started!

  • Nail Polish

I’ll be honest that I use to think all nail polish was the same. Spoiler: it’s not. I’m a very frugal person, so while I’d love to have a manicure, it’s just not something I want to splurge on. Instead, I opt to paint my nails. I’ve tried nearly everything, and I have to admit the more expensive polish really is worth it! I’m currently loving O.P.I’s “Big Apple Red,” and when I’m not wearing that I love Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish color “Pat On The Black.” The Sally Hansen is like a dark plum color, and I LOVE it. I’ve found both of these to have minimal chipping, and they dry really well. I always love to use Sally Hansen’s top clear coat to finish off the look.

  • Red Lip

Last year, I was gifted the BEST red lip stain, and now, it’s all I’ll recommend. It’s the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Red. It is AMAZING, and y’all this stuff does not budge. It’s not sticky – dries well – looks incredibly classy. I prefer to put this on, and then top with the same color in a red lipstick (I use Revlon). If I’m wearing 2 layers (Sephora + Revlon), then I will only have to touch up my lip stain one time during the day – typically after I’ve eaten a full meal. Low maintenance + classy = match made in Heaven.

  • Nude Lip

Some days are just not meant for red lipstick (sad face, I know). If that’s the case, I like Too Faced’s Melted in the color “Chihuahua,” and I also like Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in “Pink Truffle” (this is the closest thing to my natural lip color). I also just started using Ulta’s lipgloss in the color “Mauve.” I love the color for this one, but it is a bit sticky.

  • Lotion

Okay, so I’m going to bore you with this one, but the truth is the good-smelling lotion normally makes my hands freak out. In the winter, these are the only lotions that will actually do anything to help my dry skin, and they won’t my skin feel like it’s burning or itch (yeah, not fun). I use Aveeno and Aquaphor religiously throughout the year, but especially in the winter. If you have extremely dry skin, and you have tried these yet – you need to! They aren’t fancy (they are unscented), but y’all, they do the trick!!

So there’s a small peak into my beauty routine/world. I also want to encourage YOU to try rocking a red lip. I had several people send me pictures when they do, and it makes me so happy to see others try something adventurous! It’s amazing how red lipstick can give you just the boost of confidence you need.

Cheering you on!
