Okay, okay, okay, I know a month ago or so I told you about a new Instagram Secret Tool {you can read about that, here}! Now don’t get me wrong, that tool was super helpful, and I love using it on my profile. However, I will be completely honest and tell you that it is not my favorite Instagram gadget/tool/go-to item.

That my friends is the handy dandy app called, Later.

When I first started taking pictures, it frustrated me SO much to upload the picture to my computer, edit it, email it to myself, and then post it. If I didn’t like how it looked on my Instagram grid, I would quickly delete it and try again {this took forever…not joking}. Later makes things nearly 10x easier. I can edit my picture, upload it to the Later gallery and then I can see a preview of it before I post it. It really helps me see what my grid will look like before posting. If you are indecisive like me, this will be your best friend! But wait… there is more.

Later is also a great tool to schedule content. You can schedule posts in advance for your profile while you are on vacation or just during your typical work/school week. Take a look at the preview grid that appears in the app!  Now, the app does not post to Instagram for you {because that breaks a few IG rules & regulations}. But, it does send a pop up notification when it is time to post. This really helps me since I seem to forget things all of the time. I can just swipe, open the app, and post! If I have already written a caption, it is saved with the picture. It is so easy to use, and the first time you use it, it walks you through a helpful tutorial.

Take a look at the screen shot below! The right side of the photo is a section of my gallery. I upload a ton of pictures to this that I might post someday! The middle section is the calendar where you can schedule a post. You simply drag a picture to the time you want it to post. Then, a pop-up appears and you can write a caption for it!

Okay – this last point is for those of you who are looking to improve their Instagram Stories game! If you are constantly annoyed that you can’t upload pictures to your story that are over 24 hours old, then I am here to save the day! A lot of times, if you take a picture on your DSLR and then edit it and send it through email to post on Instagram, it is still has its original timecode. This means the computer and Instagram both know when you exactly took that photo. So, it knows that it is more than 24 hours old. You could always just download the photo to your phone and then screen shot it, but that takes up extra space {& the photo quality is going down too}. Later is super handy because you can upload a picture to its gallery. Then when you’re ready, you push “save to camera roll”. When you download the picture from the gallery, it puts the timecode on the downloaded photo as the current day! So, you can upload it to your story!!

love to use Later, and it is my favorite way to transport my “real” camera pictures to my phone. Go ahead and give this extremely useful app a try! You can visit their website, here! PLUS, it’s FREE!!

Not a fan of Later? Tell me what your go-to Instagram app is! I’m always looking for the latest and greatest!

I recently discovered Later too and can’t get enough of it now! I find myself way more motivated to post regularly knowing that I can upload straight from my laptop and type my (sometimes kinda long!) captions on a keyboard 😀 I find I get more engagement now that I’m using my saved hashtags too! Great post!
