Hayden and I literally cannot believe that it has already been one year since we said “I do”. We have been so blessed to have had an amazing first year together. Time has passed so quickly and things have been quite crazy! Hayden was in his first year of graduate courses and I balanced schoolwork with launching my own business. Even though a lot has gone on, it has been full of so much fun and laughter. I think I’ve laughed more in this last year than I have any other. To celebrate our anniversary, we packed up and headed out to Paducah for a weekend away. {Our goal is to visit every state together. We decided to knock out an easy one – only 3 hours away!}

Paducah and the Land between the Lakes area was different than we expected. First, there was a lighthouse. {If you didn’t know I loooooove lighthouses}. Second, we also found out that there wasn’t too much to do in the Paducah area!  We had figured out a packed schedule before we left, but I think we covered everything wanted to do. Paducah isn’t a very poppin’ town. It made relaxing pretty easy! We spent most of our time on the lake, in the park, or in Calvert City. I was so happy to get to go to the drive in, and I was also pretty proud of myself for being able to kayak for 2 hours straight. We stayed off our devices {besides taking photos}, and it was so great to get some good quality time in. Whether you’re celebrating your first anniversary or your fifty-fifth, I highly suggest getting some time away. It was so great to not worry about anything and just relax {both which I find extremely difficult to do}. I am soooo looking forward to next years trip!
