my blog!

welcome to

Hey there, y’all! What a crazy time we’re in! Don’t you wish you could go to an actual coffee shop and chat with a friend. Me too. Our local Starbucks shut down weeks ago because of the Coronavirus, and I can’t wait even to be able to go through the drive through again! Well, I’m excited to share a new series on the blog “Coffee Talk!” After chatting with more and more of you on Instagram (& when we used to be able to see each other in real life #thosewerethedays), I realized there’s more and more of a need to share real, crazy, messy life! So, that’s my aim with this. Nothing crazy, nothing real exciting, but everything REAL! I’m sharing what’s going on – what I’m loving – what I’m not so much loving – and what’s keeping us busy. Just like if we’d grab coffee in person! Let’s chat!

Personal Life

Life is currently crazy and then in the same breath, not crazy at all. Ya know? Hayden’s an essential worker – so there’s lots going on with that (making sure he’s staying healthy, keeping germs out as much as possible). It’s crazy that we haven’t seen our family in over a month. It’s odd. Even in college, if we couldn’t get back home they’d come and visit. Lots of Facetiming and Zoom calls – but it’s different. It’s also very slow around here. Some days are busy like normal, but on the flip a lot more days are just really really chill. I can’t decide if I love it or not. It’s nice to not be in a rush, but it’s so different having weekends wide open. I will be very thankful and excited to have plans on the weekend again. We’re very excited to share the gender of Baby Klock on Saturday!!! It’s been nice to have this slower season with such a busy one ahead welcoming a little baby.

Work Life

Sadly all sessions have been pushed back. It’s heartbreaking. I know there are so many more important things in the world besides getting your photo taken, but it’s heartbreaking to have pretty weather and know that I could be celebrating a senior or Prom. I’m praying this all ends quickly. I’m of course extremely blessed by such sweet clients that are so understanding during this chaos. I’ve also been extremely grateful to continue working full-time at Glamour Farms Boutique during this pandemic. I know many places have shut down, and I’m so grateful that I can continue to work from home. Things are definitely different, but I’m SO so SOOO grateful.

Faith

I’ve honestly seen so much growth in my faith, and I feel like even now I’m still continuing to grow in it as this pandemic continues. I know for some trouble times push them away from God. For me, I’ve found clinging to God in low moments is truly the ONLY thing that will get me through. There are so many unknowns with this pandemic, with our baby, with our jobs, and nearly everything under the sun. I wish I had all the answers, but I don’t. The only thing that’s keeping me some what together is saying to myself that God has a plan – I don’t know what it is, but He’s got this figured out. I just need to trust that He’s working for my good. Surrounding myself with scripture and worship songs have also been extremely helpful. I’m back into a Bible reading plan, and it’s been SO good! (I’ll have to share more soon!)

Fitness

As y’all know, I ran a half marathon this fall. Well, since then my workouts have DRASTICALLY changed. Towards the end of my half training and after the race, I experienced a lot of pain in my knees. Since then, my workouts have looked extremely different – and now especially since I’m pregnant! Lately, I’ve been trying to run 3 days a week and be active at least 1-2 other days. I’m trying to get up each morning for a 5-10 minute walk. With all of the extra evening time Hayden and I have now we’re using it to stay active, and honestly, it’s the best because I’ve been baking SO much more than usual. There are ALWAYS sweets in our house!

Things I’m Loving:

  • We’re still watching Psych and loving it! In quarantine, I’ve also watched my fair share of old Disney movies and cooking challenges on Food Network.
  • Morning walks are MAGIC – why does no one talk about them?! I follow my high school English teacher on Instagram (Hey Mrs. W!) & she is always up early and working out. I’m not quite to that point – but morning walks are a GAME CHANGER for starting your day.
  • Whales or Cheez-its. I can’t decide which one is better. We have a stash of both in our house, and I’ve always been a cheeze-its lover, but I don’t know y’all something about the Whales are SO GOOD!!!
  • My Simplified Planner is AMAZING!! I’m going to do a blog post about this because it’s seriously changing my days and making things run so much smoother!!
  • Pink trees!! I’m normally not a huge spring lover (I’m sorry y’all – it’s just not my season), but this year, I’m appreciating it SO much more. I’m seriously obsessed with pink trees, and the past few weeks, just to get out of the house, we go for a little drive. I love trying to find all of the pink blooming trees.
  • If you aren’t using silicone straws you seriously need to grab some!! I’m not a trend buyer – you know, buying items because everyone else says so. However, my sister Hannah Marie raved about silicone straws, and I literally use one everyday. It’s crazy how much more water I drink if I have a straw.

Alright y’all! That’s it! Have an awesome Tuesday! Chat with ya soon!!
