Okay friends, if you follow along on Instagram, you likely saw that I’m kicking social media down this summer. I recently just started reading Digital Minimalism, and I’ve realized what an addiction I have to social media. It’s frustrating. I don’t want to be like that – so I’m changing things up. The truth is most of my own business and my full time job revolves around social media and my knowledge of it. So, I’m working to create a healthy balance of it.

In the past, I’ve wasted so much time scrolling and just consuming. I’m hoping to switch my usage and only use it for a limited time each day or week to share content. I’m not 100% sure how I’m doing this, but it’s happening.

I’ve realized I want to enjoy and live life beyond the frustrations, comparisons, and negativity found on social media. The book I’m reading shares a lot of good stuff – and I’m only a few chapters in! It’s made me realize my intentions for social media have never been bad, but the way it was created was to be addictive and consuming. I don’t want that!

I’m not all give up everything media or digital – I’m pro “I don’t want my life (emotions, thoughts) to revolve around what I saw on social media or what I need to create for it.” If you’ve felt this push to just enjoy a simpler life I highly suggest digging in.

The truth is – I still LOVE digital creation and content creation. I will continue to create – I’ll likely just do it with a different system. One way I’m changing things up is blogging. I’ve genuinely missed this so much, but I’ve know my audience was on social media. I think I might blog more frequently – or even just onece a week, and then share weekly to my Instagram. Honestly, not so sure – still running through some ideas. So I’m running a bit of an experiment to see how I can keep creating the things I love – but ditch a ton of social media consumption.

Alright – that’s it for today! Tell me – what’s your relationship with social media and do you ever just want to ditch it?!
