Save Time Blogging!! - BlogStomp

Hey y’all, I wanted to update you on my last discovery! Being business owners, people are always trying to sell you the next best thing to better your business and save you time {& money!}. Some of these products and services are exactly what they say they are. However, some stretch the truth a little more than you’d like and you soon find out that what you invested in was a total flop. I am a very do-it-yourself person. While, I love using the latest and greatest, sometimes, I rather just save the money, and use up my own time doing the job. However, I’ve been trying to be better about a healthy work/life balance. Blogging was something that was taking up wayyyyyy more time than it should have been.  I’ll be honest, blogging had become a total pain. The biggest pain came from resizing the images that would appear on here. I would have to pull each one in to Photoshop, resize, pair it with another one, re-save it as a different file, and then I would get to upload it.

Side Note: If you aren’t resizing your pictures from your initial Lightroom export – you should be! The larger file size makes your website run slower. Slower website = less traffic.

Now, if you haven’t ever had to do the whole manual resizing process – trust me, it’s an annoyingly slow and tedious. If you are still doing this process – I would highly suggest continuing to read this because I’m about to rock your world.

BlogStomp

My new tool is – BlogStomp, and it will change your entire blogging game. I do know that several creatives are using this special tool, but I also know that many aren’t. Now, just like any frugal business owner, I like to try the free option first until purchasing the real deal. I was hooked on BlogStomp as soon as I downloaded it, and I quickly purchased the full version. {P.S. the website allows you to bundle other products with it. You can purchase other bundles or you can purchase just the app.} If you are currently using BlogStomp, then you know about the amazing time saving skills this tool has. I was tired of having to resizing images for what sometimes took hours, and now literally takes me less than 20-30 minutes. Guys, that’s an incredible ratio.  So, if you’re looking to cut your blogging time down, then I highly suggest purchasing BlogStomp.

Still not convinced? Let’s do a walk through!

This might be the easiest application to use. It is so user-friendly, and it makes doing your job THAT much easier. When you first open the app, you will have a chance to set the base width for all of your blog pictures – no worries if you aren’t sure right away. You can easily change this setting.

First, you upload the files you’re wanting to blog to your queue. Next, you sift through your images, and then click on the first one you’d like to resize. If you’d like to pair 2 {or more} click on the first image, and then hold down the command button and click the next images you want it to be paired with. It will automatically create a collage. You can choose a different variation on the right hand side. {P.S. Say you’d want the image on the left to appear before the close-up of Mariah. Since, the collage pairs in chronological order you will need to change the order on the left-hand side.  Simply drag the wider shot above the close-up on the queue and your problem is solved!} Once you’ve finished your blog image, click the Stomp It! button. This will automatically save your new file to a STOMPED folder on your desktop. You can change the location of the save in the settings tab.

There are so many other cool parts of this app that you can use for your business. You can directly resizing an image for your Facebook cover photo, a Facebook gallery, a Twitter message, or your can even connect your blog right to BlogStomp. You also have many other personalization/styling options to choose from. The settings tab allows you to customize the border display and sizing!

Before purchasing BlogStomp, I really thought my self-help way was much better. I knew that it took a little more time, but I really didn’t think BlogStomp would be that much better. Guys, I would hands down suggest this to any blogger. It is a time-saver, life-giver-backer {yes, that’s a legit term}.

  1. […] This reason was my initial reason for starting a blog. I wanted to be able to easily showcase my work. I found that this is the absolute easiest place for people to see what you do. It can be hard {or near impossible} to search for a specific post on a social media site. However, I know my clients have a much better chance of seeing what they are looking for on my blog. My search bar and categories tool make it easier to find an area of interest. A blog also allows for more space to showcase work. People often feel overwhelmed when you post multiple images to your social profile. However, a blog can grant you with more space to showcase your work! Social media site often randomly compress the quality and size of the images posted. You can ensure that your website will better highlight your quality and type of work. {Please note: I’m not suggesting to post your original images directly on to your blog. You do need to resize them, and you can read more about that HERE!} […]
