Why you should be Blogging!

I’m so excited to share something that is so important in my heart – blogging. Blogging has been something that I really have started to love over the past few years. I initially started a blog three years ago to showcase some of my photography work. Since then, my blogging lifestyle has drastically changed. Like many other young entrepreneurs, I didn’t understand the importance of having a blog and blogging. I know that starting a blog can be intimidating and quite taxing, but I’m sharing 3 reason why I think you should still be blogging!

1. It’s YOUR Space!

Social media marketing is constantly changing. It seems like every day the algorithms are changing for how to increase your engagement. One incredible but SIMPLE thing about having your own blog is… it’s your OWN! You can decide when to post and how often to post. You can decide the order your content appears. You hold the power of what your followers get to see. You own this space – you aren’t renting it like you do on social media. It is your place to create, dream, and showcase. You sit in the control sit – and let me tell you, it feels pretty great!

2. You are SEARCHABLE

Do you ever wish you could attract more people with the power of your website and SEO abilities? One of the first ways to kick that off is to have more searchable content. If you only have very few pages of searchable content on your website, how do you expect ideal clients to find you?! {Let me tell you – they won’t!} When you have your own blog, you are creating more pages of content that can be picked up on a search engine.

More Blog Posts = Easier for Search Engines to Pick Up Content = Easier for Ideal Clients to Find YOU = Better Chance You Get To Do What You LOVE!

3. Easy Portfolio

This reason was my initial reason for starting a blog. I wanted to be able to easily showcase my work. I found that this is the absolute easiest place for people to see what you do. It can be hard {or near impossible} to search for a specific post on a social media site. However, I know my clients have a much better chance of seeing what they are looking for on my blog. My search bar and categories tool make it easier to find an area of interest. A blog also allows for more space to showcase work. People often feel overwhelmed when you post multiple images to your social profile. However, a blog can grant you with more space to showcase your work! Social media sites often compress the quality and size of the images posted. You can ensure that your website will better highlight your quality and type of work. {Please note: I’m not suggesting to post your original images directly on to your blog. You do need to resize them, and you can read more about that HERE!}

I know blogging can be tedious, and I know you might be nervous to start this new leap! I know you can do this, and I will be cheering you along the way!
